Principal at Sams & DeGough Engineers, PLLC

Since 2005 Logan Sams has been practicing civil and structural engineering. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.

Logan spent the first few years of his career working on interstate widening and bridge replacement projects for a large civil engineering firm in the Southeastern U.S. Logan then began working for a small structural engineering firm specializing in building design and glued-laminated timber construction.

In January of 2011, he began practicing structural engineering as a sole practitioner.

Logan has engaged in a wide variety of project types during his career, including hospitality (hotels and restaurants), educational (K-12), religious, industrial, office, large site retaining walls, and specialty glulam engineering. These projects included design work with most types of construction–reinforced concrete, structural steel, reinforced masonry, wood and heavy timber, light gage metal framing, and pre-engineered steel buildings.

Logan likes to spend his free time with his wife Brittany and two sons, Tanner and Collin, living on the farm he grew up on.  He enjoys playing electric guitar in church, has a small collection of motorcycles, and spends time training in a Jiu Jitsu/MMA gym where he is a part owner.  He likes to stay active when not in the office. 

Logan is licensed in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, Alabama, and North Carolina.
